Merry Christmas

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich. (IICor.8: 9).
The temperature of North America is getting down, yet not only the North America but entire world is getting hot because of forth coming season. A season to lunch new brand for the company, a season to sell more products for the corporate, a season to introduce new arrivals for the stores. A season has already started, where one can sell more liquors then ever before. The season has started when more cans and bottles will be empty then ever before in this year. Yet, how many of us have seriously thought about it? How many of us know really what does this season means?
The Holy Bible describes about the birth of Jesus, “1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to his own town to register. 4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:1-7)

What is Christmas?
Christmas is just the celebration of the birth day of Jesus Christ who was born in Israel almost 2000 years ago. In Bible we don’t fine any prove that Jesus was born in 25th December. It is controversial date about the birth of Jesus, yet it is a plain fact that Jesus came into this world in the form of human and suffered all the trials and pains like you and me in human flesh.

It’s importance:
Christmas is importance in the History of Humanity. This is the day God became flesh and lived among us as you and me. This is the day, the creator of Heaven and earth took the form of human and born as man.
Apostle Paul writes about the importance of Jesus’ incarnation in his second epistle to the Believers of Corenth that for making us rich Jesus became the poor of poorest so that we may be rich. This riches is not only in spiritual life but also in our physical life. The Bible clearly declares that “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.”(IICor.8: 9). Jesus became poor in order to make us rich.
Many times the traditional Church teaches us that these riches are only in spiritual way. But if we see the word of God carefully, there is not even single evidence that proves that the suffering of Jesus in order to bless us was spiritual. Jesus suffered poverty in physical way not only in spiritual way. He was the creator of Heaven and Earth. Though he was the Creator of Heaven and the Earth, he took the form of poor of poorest, not in the spirit but in his physical body. He took it so that we may be rich in the flesh. Jesus took our entire curse so that we may be rich in the physical life. Jesus suffered so that we may have life abundant and full of glory.
In order to save us, Jesus suffered himself, so that there will not be future suffering to any one who believes in Jesus the Son of Living God. Because all our sin and sickness and problems and sufferings, Jesus has already took on behalf of us.

The Message of Real Christmas:
The real Christmas means a life that is completely changed under the diving destination of God. Let us see from the action of the wish man of East who came to celebrate Jesus’ birth as Bible Describes: “10When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh. 12And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.” (Matt. 2:10-12).
The real Christmas means the changed life, a changed way of life , a complete new walk of life. It is for sure that we are living in the world that is pretty much materialistic. Yet, we have our own option either to return to the palace of Herod or to take a bold step of complete new life in Christ Jesus our Lord. May God bless us in our free will decision to follow Jesus as our Lord.
Wish you Blessed Christmas and Proporous new year 2009.
